A Petition - Free Bus Passes for Catholic
Children: Kirklees Council is proposing to do away with the free
transport which enables many of our Catholic children to attend a
Catholic school. This will have a great impact on St. John Fisher
School in particular. At the moment children aged 11 and over who
live more than 3 miles from school receive a free bus pass.
It is proposed that the free transport will be phased out
allowing the Council to save money at the expense of many
Catholic families. There is more information about this in the
porch and also a petition which we have been asked to sign asking
the Council to reconsider this proposal.
