CARITAS LEEDS CRIMINAL JUSTICE INQUIRY
‘Justice and Mercy’
Over the past 2 years Caritas Leeds has conducted an Inquiry called Justice and Mercy in order to:
- Increase knowledge and understanding among Catholics of the United Kingdom’s criminal justice system and the experiences of people in our Diocese who encounter it.
- Explore and reflect on approaches to restorative justice.
- Encourage Catholics to take more action to support people encountering the criminal justice system and address the injustices which they may face.
- Make practical recommendations for action and change.
On Monday 19th October at 2.00pm our Bishop Marcus Stock will be launching the publication of the above Inquiry. This report presents a number of recommendations and a range of online resources to help parishes and communities within the Diocese to take action in support of victims of crime, prisoners, ex-offenders and their families.
At the launch, Bishop Marcus will be joined by Mark Burns-Williamson, Police and Crime Commissioner of West Yorkshire and others giving their personal testimonies of the criminal justice system.
You are warmly invited to join Bishop Marcus for the launch on;
